  10.  AB    OBJECTIVE: We experienced 2 suicides and 2 attempted suicides. We
  11.        evaluated these 4 cases and considered background of suicide. PATIENTS:
  12.        Case No. 1 was a 31-year-old asymptomatic HIV infected heterosexual man.
  13.        He was known HIV positiveness by blood donation. He contacted with
  14.        counsellor at the early days. Althouth his lover and friends accept him,
  15.        he killed himself 20 days after notification. Case No. 2 was a
  16.        32-year-old AIDS homosexual man. He was diagnosed Kaposi's sarcoma and
  17.        notified AIDS at a hospital. He was transfered to our hospital without
  18.        his will because the hospital could not accept him. He had strong pain
  19.        by oral Kaposi's sarcoma. Probably these two points are the cause of
  20.        suicide. Case No. 3 was a 48-year-old AIDS heterosexual man. He was
  21.        diagnosed Kaposi's sarcoma and notified AIDS at a hospital. He attended
  22.        foreign hospital, because his local hospital refuse him. He could not
  23.        meet person who accept him. He could not continue to go the hospital
  24.        because of poor. Probably these two points may be the cause of attempted
  25.        suicide. Case No. 4 was a 35-year-old AIDS heterosexual man. He lost his
  26.        sight because of CMV retinitis. He said that life hangs heavy upon me at
  27.        the time of attempted suicide. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUTIONS: We need to
  28.        establish the scale to evaluate the QOL of patients with HIV at many
  29.        view points.
